Meet Our Second Cohort
Under NoDe, our first cohort brings together 13 diverse CSOs, each contributing unique expertise and perspectives. From transforming livelihoods and addressing climate challenges to amplifying women’s voices and strengthening local governance and child-focused initiatives, these organisations are at the forefront of change in Northeast India.
Together, they form the heart of NoDe’s mission- a collaborative community driving meaningful, sustainable impact across the region. Through shared learning, capacity-building, and tailored support, this cohort exemplifies the power of organisations working collectively to create lasting social change.
Navoday Foundation
Navoday Foundation is a non – profit established in December 2016 by Purna Chetry, rooted in the remote Baksa district of Assam. Dedicated to uplifting the most marginalized communities, its primary focus is on strengthening rural livelihoods especially among women through scientific mushroom cultivation. By providing training, establishing producer organizations, and promoting market access, Navoday has empowered over 1,200 women farmers, enabling sustainable growth and self-reliance.
Socio Economic Development Organization (SEDO)
Socio Economic Development Organization (SEDO)is a grassroots nonprofit based in Assam’s Dhemaji district, working to uplift marginalized communities through interventions in child development, mental health, maternal hygiene, nutrition, livelihoods, and disaster resilience. The organization focuses on building community awareness and promoting self-reliance in disaster-prone rural areas.
Rilum Foundation for Sustainable Development (RFSD)
Rilum Foundation for Sustainable Development (RFSD) is a grassroots nonprofit established in May 2001 and based in Shillong, Meghalaya. Operating primarily in the East Khasi Hills, RFSD focuses on participatory community development, actively engaging community groups, youth organizations, and traditional institutions. Its mission emphasizes improving rural livelihoods by harnessing technology and enhancing access to agricultural and allied support services for marginalized groups.
DAWN
DAWN is a non-political, non-profit organization established in 2011, with its registered office in Pyndengumiong (Lumiew), Meghalaya. The organization focuses on promoting the general welfare of rural communities through initiatives in socio-economic development, education, environment, and sustainable empowerment of underserved populations.
Foundation for Sustainable Development Trust (FSDT Assam)
Foundation for Sustainable Development Trust (FSDT‑Assam) is an NGO registered in 2005 in Guwahati, Assam. The organization focuses on a broad spectrum of community development initiatives, including agriculture, animal husbandry, dairying, rural development, poverty alleviation, women’s empowerment, drinking water, health, environment, and disaster management.
Samaritan Resource Centre (SRC)
Samaritan Resource Centre (SRC) is a grassroots voluntary organization based in Manipur, committed to holistic community development. Originally established in 1982 and restructured in 2005, SRC works across the state to promote peacebuilding, education, health, gender justice, environmental sustainability, and livelihood development. Guided by the philosophy of “Love your neighbor as yourself,” the organization empowers marginalized communities through awareness programs, capacity building, and sustainable income generation, while also supporting vulnerable groups such as women, children, and people living with HIV/AIDS.
